PPCchecker?
« on: October 24, 2021, 06:07:39 PM »
Anybody possibly have access to this little app in their archives?

From the developer

PPC Checker is a small utility written by Michiro Isobe that will report whether your G3 CPU
is Copper or Aluminum based and reports the CPU revision for both G3 and G4 CPUs.
PPC Checker will also report if your G3 has a 10x bus/cpu ratio capability.
(A plus for older Macs with lower bus speeds.)

Been attempting to determine exactly which processor is in this damned
lovely Lombard… and I’ve tried all I can find in the realm of Terminal commands
to yield this information, all to no avail.

Found various resources on how to remove the little app (PPCChecker 2.6.1) but that’s it. :-[

sounds familiar.

here is montalcini´s PowerPCheck, which does not the same.

i am pretty sure i have something called "PPCChecker.sit", too, but it seems to be not in my official archives.

Thanks IIO. Have downloaded both and will test soon.
More RAM arrives today - so maybe I can put the
Lombard and all this testing to bed very soon. ::)
