Let’s see what machine you use to access the forum & the setting in which it normally resides? Not everyone uses an OS 9 machine for this. (I know, shocking.)

This is the upstairs “portal” here - a Mid-2007 24” iMac. (No photography allowed downstairs in the PPC Zone @ present because it looks like a bomb went off down there.) *And you may notice the Fox Mulder inspired tape over the iMac’s camera and the G3 iBook in the foreground?

And threatening again to move all computers and computer-related itemz downstairs this year. (That OWC FW drive has all current iMac files freshly copied for eventual migration to a 27” iMac.)

This diversion brought to you per procrastination & temporary avoidance of Mac Mini upgrades that I’m supposed to be doing today… as new Quicksilver CPUs loom on the event horizon.

So, you have a task you’d like to put off or perhaps avoid for maybe a little while?
Let’s see what “portal” you use, und where.

Usually having some breakfast/lunch somewhere with a MacBook Pro 'hand me down' from my daughter after I bought her a new one... In this case a 2013(Catalina)... and I can totally relate to the 'bomb detonation'

Daily driver machine is my 2021 MacBook Air with an M1 CPU. Lovely machine and it's insanely fast.
Other than that I mostly use my MDD or my PowerMac 5500 with Mac OS 9.2.2 and System 7.6.1.

2012 Macbook Pro which will soon have an 'upgrade' to 10.15 Catalina. Up until the beginning of this year I used to use my 2010 Mac Pro dual 2.93 as my daily driver but I've decided to clean it up and sell it on.

I do most of my casual browsing on the sofa in the lounge. My desk is for work and gaming!

Power Mac G4, with my iBook G3 supplying it an Internet connection.

Perfectly acceptable computing power for $36. I was using the Gerswhix theme then, but I'm using a Jaguar theme now.

Have since taken in an iMac. It's going to displace my hp as my daily computer once I'm moved in somewhere until I can finally grab a Blackbird, but it's vindicating my attachment to CRTs, the display looks pretty terrible if I'm being honest.

Clung to my CRTs forever for this very same reason - but the FPs have improved.
But still not as good for color critical work IMHO - (and according to my old eyes).

Have one LaCie CRT remaining & working here... treated w/ absolute kid gloves.
And a similar iMac to the one pictured & you’re correct, it’s absolutely horrible.
(Yet still, continue to seek a replacement screen for it.)
