OS 9.2 on PowerMac MDD 1.0DP
« on: August 27, 2021, 06:41:39 PM »
Hello, just came into possession of a PowerMac G4 MDD. Came with no Hard drive or video card. Slotted in an old rage 128 AGP which seems to work, and to replace the hard drive I used a SD to IDE adapter card. When the Mac boots, it goes to splash screen for OS.9.2.2, but then I get this error - *attached.

Using a wireless Logitech keyboard and mouse to a USB adapter, other then that, nothing connected. Any thoughts?

Ok, so what I have tried so far - understanding that the retail OS 9 doesnt have the correct "drivers" for later versions of powermacs, I have tried to grab a version that is supposed to be for this Powermac, but it wouldn't load it, as if it didn't see the disc. Tried the Apple hardware test, same issue.

Going to try OSX and see if its any different.

if your powermac mdd is the one i think it is [is there another? i'll be honest, i still feel like a newbie at times] you can always install this version of macos9:

i have the 1.25ghz single core mdd and that the one i use.
