I've just bought a G4 466 DA w/a Sonnet Encore/ST 1.4GHz CPU upgrade. It currently has a GeForce FX 5500/128 installed and is running 10.5.8. I haven't yet taken delivery of it, but should within a week or so. My hope is to boot both OS 9 & OSX on it, and so I'm trying to sort out the bits I'll need to make it OS9-boot-ready. It looks like the CPU accelerator is compatible with OS9, but it doesn't look like the GeForce FX 5500 can be used without first being flashed w/a 5200 ROM, so I am considering purchasing an nVidia GeForce4 TI4600 (Part #661-2595) to replace the 5500 with.

That said, it appears the M7627LL/A motherboard isn't technically compatible with the 4600 but it seems like it should work. Does anyone have any thoughts about the best way to proceed? I am primarily wanting to run audio applications but clearly would like the best graphics performance I can get from both operating systems without having to stand up a DOS box just to flash the ROM.
