Older iPods and iPhones with MacOS 9.2.2 Question
« on: June 04, 2020, 06:11:08 PM »
I was wondering if there are any Apple or third party Classic apps to access the early iPhones and iPods iPads.
I remember using forensic tool kit about 8 years ago to access all of the files on an iPhone on MacOSX.
Anyone know a classic app to grab pictures and video off one of these?
Seems like it might be worth writing one in Real Basic.

No you would have to write something on your own, Mac OS 9 was long time dead by the time the iPhone was introduced.

I haven't heard of one either but I'd love to be able to pull / push files to my iPod Nano 3. Gen from OS9 too. It's annoying to boot OSX for that. So yeah, such an app would be really cool :-)

Maybe 1st gen iPod (Firewire). A friend told me you could access it as a Mac Drive, but he didnt specify me if it were on 9 or X.
Looking for MacOS 9.2.4

Yeah, the first original iPod still worked on OS 9 if I recall correctly. Later ones required some OSX / iTunes.

1st iPod Firewire should work. If you install iTunes 2 to Mac OS 9, it comes with iPod Firewire Enabler extension..you might have it already (it had come with some MDDs and Powerbooks), remember enable it from Extension Manager.

Throwing my 2c in here (while on the floor putting together an insane G4/PT OS9 rig). Someone here should write an app to use the iPhone with OS9 (sync files, photos, even Cam as a web cam). That would be the coolest vaporwave thing ever. Ever ever.

Hope you guys are great,
