Fixing USB flash drives with Mac OS 9
« on: May 30, 2020, 09:59:15 AM »
I have done some USB flash drive fixes some years ago with Mac OS 9.
Situations was no Windows and Mac OS X sees any partition on these USB-drives (not my drives, so first thing to do wasn't to put my Mac).
So the drives look like they are broken, but they wasn't. I just put to them to my mac with Mac OS 9.2.2 and some waiting they start working and all files was there. And after that they working normally after that with Windows and Mac OS X, too.

But this week there was little harder USB flash drive. Drive even didn't show any OS as drive (I also tested in Linux) . I was ready to give up, but luckily I tested it in Mac OS 9 with Silverlining Pro and it find it, but it says in gray "probably broken?", but it let start format drive and I started it and forget how slow USB1.1 is for 8 GB USB flash drive  :-[ approximation was 7 hours...and it takes 10 hours, but after that flash drive was like new.
