Bought new Photoshop, XPress, Acrobat and InDesign ;)
Mat:
I just wanted to share that I had the opportunity to buy several programs for my Macs. For example I got a Photoshop 7 (Updat including original PS 3 and 4) for 40 bucks. All are including the licence, the box, even the originally heat-sealed manuals! I am really happy.
I am going for the last versions of the professional applications. Photoshop 7, InDesign 2, Acrobat 5, ... all in my first language. And it seems right now is a quite good time to do so. There are few people around still using them, but they are still not "ancient" like some Atari Software for example.
In fact we have been stunned how professional that stuff from 2003 looks! And it is such a joy to have the physical stuff, especially the manuals. Completely different to download some software! It is at least like the difference of wathing a good movie at the Cinema or any smartphone ;)
And finally, it is incredible to have software for more than 7000 bucks for less than 100 in your hands and as physical products. Something that was not reachable a few years ago if oyu didn't earn your money with it.

i would have shared a safety copy of mine with you :P
Mat:
That is what I wanted to tell, … you cannot share a 500 pages user manual, a box and a industrially produced CD ;)
To have this final product is so differently to downloading some stuff from somewhere.
But that does not mean that creating safety copys isn't wise! For example all the expensive highly professional XPress plugins for 5.x are exhaling. You cannot buy them anymore, nobody has them and nobody sells them used. Also very few people have copys at all, …

as long as quark 4.11 isnt even able to display fonts properly, i use indesign (knowing that it is the opposite of a "professional" format, and full of bugs, too. for example in der deutschen version wurden thin space und hair space miteinander verwechselt.)
