WTB Old SCIS drive
« on: March 22, 2020, 12:24:28 PM »
I am in need of a functional scsi drive for my Macintosh TV.
If you have one that would be compatible, hit me up and let me know what you want for it.
I'd be greatly appreciative as well if you are able to verify it is functional before sending me one.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it, or break it so you can fix it!

Hey there I got my hands on a few from the Mac Museum.  I could spare one for sure.  Let me know your address and I'll mail it to you for the cost of shipping.  I have one with 1gb that should get you some mileage.

I would definitely advise you invest in one of those SCSI to MicroSD adapters if you haven't already.  some huge advantages:

1. no moving parts (super quiet)

2. puts off no heat (you could even disabled the internal fan)

3. reliable (not 20+ year old drives)

Thanks,
Caleb

and to be clear, do you need an external drive or just the actual HDD itself?  if that's the case i'd highly recommend the SCSI to MicroSD card device..  best price I see currently is:

https://www.ebay.com/i/192912906555?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=192912906555&targetid=885787207871&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9002051&poi=&campaignid=6469750693&mkgroupid=89345420792&rlsatarget=aud-762207186714:pla-885787207871&abcId=1141176&merchantid=6296724&gclid=CjwKCAjw3-bzBRBhEiwAgnnLCtBlYsWITM8gepqW1grYYgQZXy-jJv5rpduT7qqGAcfcE9C27CE8mhoCCNMQAvD_BwE

not cheap but easily $20-40 cheaper than others out there.

If you just need the drive, i may have a 2gb drive.  I gave one to a friend but i believe he's using it just for the enclosure to put one of those cards in.  probably isn't going to be using the spinner itself.  let me know.

You need a normal 1/3 height or a 1/2 height (like in SE / Mac Plus etc.?)

If you're locating somewhere in Central Europe, drop me a line. I should have something for you.

Just looking for the physical drive.  I have an external enclosure should I need one, but I'm just looking for the actual drive to install in the machine.

I looked at the scsi2sd before and may go that route eventually.   Right now I just would rather try to acquire a working drive affordably to get the machine working. Once I get it working completely I'll probably look into the scsi2sd for the long term.

yes I am in the U.S.A.
