Hi everyone,
So last Sunday with the passing of Adam they have been gradually selling off the impressive collection of gear they had. As a nice gesture rather than having the misc parts go to a landfill, they opened up the house for folks in the area to see if there is anything they could use. I was able to get some interesting items including a keyspan serial card, so the law of attraction or something was at work.
I took some pictures to share for everyone. I know many of you knew Adam. I did not, but I will say the folks that were there were really kind and it was touching to see them honor his work and be there to allow us local mac folks to find some items of value.
I found some cool items fortunately. there were no complete systems there. Those are out there now and you can find all the auctions here:
https://ebay.com/usr/vintagemacmuseum-salesI found a few cool things like (woo hoo) a keyspan 4 port card (untested) for starters and some other gizmos like SCSI zip drives and external drives. My samplers will be happy. I'm testing them out this weekend. I snagged a 12" Powerbook G4 that works (tested) but didn't have a PSU (on order) and no battery (trying to find one that is compatible AND reasonable (like $30 or less)..
I also grabbed a spindle of CD/DVDs. I'm not sure if any of it is of interest to the group, but i know one of them caught my eye. it was an OS 8.5 CD rom.. i imagine this stuff is already well archived and such, but yea there's a bunch of disks that i'll try to audit this weekend and try to summarize.
Had a decent turn out. I got there a little early and the doors were already open so a couple of people had a head start, but the bulk of people showed up later and that's when the feeding frenzy occured, but you could tell that at least most of the people there were legitimately fans of apple hardware, some of the hollowed out systems were destined to become aquariums and such too.. heh. Good times.
