Measuring CPU Speed
« on: February 01, 2020, 12:41:34 AM »
Are there any OS9 tools out there that read the actual/current CPU speed? The most useful tool I have found is Gauge Pro from NewerTech, but I'm not sure how accurate these readings are, or whether they show current speeds. Ram speed is obviously current because it changes often.

I have a PBG4 5,6 overclocked to 1.8Ghz which reads as 1.8Ghz in Gauge Pro, but my PBG4 5,2 (1Ghz) only reads as 216Mhz.

Apple System Profiler says it's 1000Mhz, but that's just being pulled from the hardware defaults. I modified the default value to 1150Mhz in Open Firmware and next boot it was updated in Apple System Profiler, so I know System Profiler is not accurate.

I know it's an unsupported machine but surely it's not running at 216Mhz??  :-[
