OK, so I finally located an 8500 locally which looks OK.
The seller won't mind to look at a gazillion of old SATA and PATA drives which I do have - but don't need anymore.

Hopefully he has an AGP PC to flash the card.
But it would be good to know exactly what to flash the card with, so we won't have a brick.

This is EXACTLY the card:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/392488605215

It is not far and the price is what we agree upon (not what you see on the fee-Bay).
But I do not want to waste his time, my time or brick the card.

This is storage-related because once I finally revive my G4 MDD, things with storage will progress much faster ;)

If everything is OK with him I will probably pick up the card on Saturday (or when my wife agrees to loan me her hybride in exchange of my gas guzzler for a day).
The gas is 3x or maybe 4x here compared with what it is in the States, the salaries are about that times less.

Luckily not working for a local business!!!

with the 8500 there is a trick to blind flash it; without having to use a PC i believe
mactron posted about this; he can help you
i cant remember; i think its just using the firmware updater patch in macos9
not sure if it auto configures itself to run on next boot i think it might

that model does say its an 8500LE tho; which isnt a full 8500
but should still work in macos9

It looks like the "real thing", not SE or LE. At least there is nothing, but 8500 64MDDR on the third picture.
It's not Germany here - but people over 40 still stare at memory being called "DDR".  ???

Bought this card:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-G4-Ati-Video-Card/193167924319

Got it for £12 + £16.26 via Global Shipping Program.
The price of the eBay sale is rigged: eBay fraudulent way displays not the price the card was sold for - but the price the seller asked originally.
In addition to that the shipping displayed is also rigged. It was £16.26 and not £16.61.

Few Pennies can make a lot of difference for GSP, too. And shame on eBay for the price rigging.

The proof is the screenshot. Neat!

Anyway, it's a different story. The card is for sure better than the 128 non-Pro Rage I have. The sooner it arrives, the sooner things will start.

The local seller did not appear. His 8500 could be good, but it was a card for PC and to be flashed. His loss anyway.
