Using USB powered speakers on OS 9
« on: September 07, 2018, 11:37:21 PM »
Right, nother quick snag, wanting to invest in some small speakers like these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0777QBJWT/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A286IZ33TR5AUQ&psc=1 but a lot of them are USB powered. Does OS 9 have any quarrels with this, or do I need an external adapter or 3.5mm powered set of speakers?

With laptops, all-in-one mini PCs, etc - I am always very cautious about using their USB to power much more than a couple of thumb drives. The included power supplies are just not very robust. Personally I would go for USB signal but powered from a separate supply. Some kind of Y-split cable might be usable for power if it doesn't have its own DC connector.
