Printing in OS 9.2.2

Hello!

I need to print, preferably to PDF with PostScript capability, but at the very least to a modern printer from a Powerbook Titanium with OS 9.2.2 installed and working fine. The program I need to print from is Mosaic, a music notation program made by MOTU ( Mark of the Unicorn).

I am at a complete loss as to how to set this up. I used to be expert at Mac OS9, but it has been so long!

Is there some software that would help? How should I go about this?

PrintToPDF is a nice little utility for printing PDFs.
It's now free. Note it functions as a QuickDraw printer.

To select a printer, open the Chooser, click the Laserwriter icon, then select your printer in the right pane.
That's the easy bit (I've never worked out printing in any other OS!)

The hard part is finding a 'modern' printer that supports OS9. Lexmark were perhaps the last manufacturer to do so ... but I'm not buying another after the last one failed.

Thank you. I have it and it works, but not well enough. Fonts do not show correctly.

Well I just had some success with Acrobat 4 from Macintosh Garden.

Printing a PDF now gives a reasonably good quality output! Will try using the PDF on a modern system now...

Adobe Acrobat 5 is on Macintosh Garden too.

Another possibility is that you use Laserwriter 8 to print to a PostScript file. Then you use Distiller to convert this file to a PDF. This gives you more options than printing to the Adobe PDF writer.
