FCP 3, "USBManagerLib could not be found"
« on: July 14, 2018, 10:00:31 AM »
Hi, I'm trying to get FCP 3 running on an 8500 with a 1 GHz CPU upgrade and an external firewire disk.
Installed 9.2.2 using "OS 9 Helper", seems to be running fine, with an occasional odd crash.
Downloaded FCP 3 installer, also seemed to go fine, but when I try to run the error is "Final Cut Pro could not be opened
because "USBManagerLib" could not be found". This happens off both the startup and firewire disk.

There is no USBManagerLib to be found, but I dimly remember seeing that error before in some context.
Any suggestions?  Also, FCP 2 seems to be running fine, off the firewire drive.

Thanks for any help!

those missing "libs" re usually contained inside some library or driver with another name in /system extensions (or, in rare cases, beside the application)

why FCP would need anything with "usb", no idea.

but the USBManagerLib dos no longer exists in 9.2, it is now part of USBManager.

you can just add the old USBManagerLib to your system in order to use FCP.

apple support has deleted all this content, it might be on a 9.0 or 8.5 CD.
