says its for presonus firebox but im prety sure this will work for any interface that has the 9 pin out for midi/spdif such as the audiophile + profire m-audio devices

Hello!...
I'm reviving this topic because I just bought a used Presonus Firebox that came without the DB9 to MIDI breakout cable...
I need the pinout so I can make myself one. I'm astounded not to find any information anywhere about this... (except a post on DIY audio where the pins are all wrong).

theres a seller that i had make some unique cables for me
hes out of Ukraine and his seller name is midi kabel or something like that

he creates cable breakouts for 2nd hand interfaces such as this.. you should contact him

I thank you for the tip but honestly, I do not expect to spend any money on this as I essentially have all the parts here and it's likely to take 30 minutes to make at most...

I made it!
here's the pinout:

DB9       corresponding connection
1            MIDI OUT pin 4
2            SPLIF IN center
3            SPLIF OUT center
4            possibly ground (pin 2) of MIDI OUT
5            MIDI IN pin 4
6            MIDI OUT pin 5
7            SPLIF IN ground
8            SPLIF OUT ground
9            MIDI IN pin 5

I confirm DB9 pins 4,7 and 8 are more or less tied to ground.
