original cubase install cds (for macintosh) from 1996/1997
« on: March 03, 2018, 08:45:15 AM »
does anyone have original disc image of v3.x of cubase for mac?
http://www.oldschooldaw.com/forums/index.php?topic=188.0

the cds are from 1996 + 1997, either one of these;
05/01/1996 Cubase VST Macintosh 3.0 (First VST version)
8/1/1997 Cubase VST v3.5 (Mac)

featuring installers for Cubase, Cubase Score, Cubase Audio XT
i think this is the best version for 68030 processor on system 7?

No VST at all for 68K macs. Audio support (Cubase Audio) needs a Nubus audio card ... Digidesign, etc... AFAIK.
In The 68k era I had an 840AV and worked with Logic Audio because it had support for the audio in the AV.
Please don't PM about things that are not private.

I have a boxed version 3.5. (actually says 3.52 on the disk) and a boxed Version 4 r2.

Each box comes with a serial number and a licence/authorisation floppy disk.
I seem to remember the floppy disk authorisation process was a massive pain and you had to put a file back on to this disk when 'de-authorising' (moving computers). I'm not sure my floppy disks are valid...

Should I upload ISO's of both here?

I have boxed version 2.0 (black and white). This pre-CD  era uses only floppy disk authorization schemes.

You have many many Cubase licenses?

If update that 4.0 version to version 4.1r2...does audio-editor still works (mine shows only half of audio)? Or is it only my problem (recording with 24bit/96khz)?

And interesting question to me is that version 3.52 doesn't support 24bit-audio, but I have strange hint that updating to 3.65 or 3.7 should give support for that and also support for Mac OS 9. Is that true?

version 3.52 asks for "master disk" to be inserted.. it's asking for a floppy -- and when it doesnt get the floppy it removes all the installed files.. sigh
it does have an installable demo of 3.52 that installs fine without the floppy
it also seems to contain the Cubase Audio XT installer just like the image from above indicates except for v3.52 rather than 3.0.2

Yeah, both versions (3.52 & 4.0) came with a serial number and a licence/authorisation floppy disk.

The floppies that I received with these packages were missing authorisation files. With the floppy disk authorisation process you had to put a file back on to this disk when 'de-authorising' (moving computers). I guess this means the previous owners didn't bother to put the file back.
