in general touch events are translated to mouse actions, tap = click is safe.
Tap-hold could be right-click or initiate a selection rectangle. So it's usually one or the other...

Gestures need specific support in applications, there's no default set.
The Duet app has a mode (available as in-app purchase) for the Apple Pencil - resulting in a fairly low package price if you have an iPad anyway (running IOS 8 or above) and the respective graphic software.

does anyone else on the site use ios devices in their production?

im mostly interested in finding out other uses of these older devices that are available for cheap
but can become indispensible tools when used in combination with certain apps..
like the twoMonUSB trick for using an old ipad as a "touch enabled display"

i need to do more research looking into other midi related software..

and answering questions such as:
has anyone else successfully bridged wireless wi-fi/bluetooth devices to their existing vintage midi setup?

etc etc
