are u talking about this ancient 1980s software by Digidesign called Sound Designer?
i was pretty sure that software requires a mac with nubus slots, also running os 7/8 at most? but it seems it is possible to use it with a PCI Macintosh, but there are some other strange requirements.. need to be updated to v2.83 + also need to be running mac os 8.6 or lower? check the FAQ link below; the only trouble with that is that alot of the main functionality that made sound designer "a popular thing" was because it communicated directly to sampler hardware.. but if u read the faq in its entirety it becomes clear that they removed that functionality around version 2.6, also when you run SDII on PCI hardware, it does not even support using the plug-ins..  so really the only usefull platform for really running sound designer on, was and still is?? on a Macintosh II computer, which unlike the Macintosh SE, had the Nubus hardware slots to accomodate the hardware interface cards.. the last PPC macs to have nubus slots as u know were the 7100/8100 series, and according to https://everymac.com/systems/apple/powermac/index-powermac.html it seems that was discontinued in (August 1995) you would also need an AudioMedia II interface or Sound Tools Interface (or a complete Nubus ProTools Rig)
