Speedisk (defrag) 190GB

Diskdoctor does not play well at all with OS 9.2.2 so don't use it

yeah it is a bitch, i know, and the implementation of "searching filesaver info" which takes 3 hours and allows you to interruopt it with no wanring that this kills the catalog is absurd. :)

i just want to check an empty disk with it tomorrow and i was not so sure if it can work with 2 tb drives.

Norton really hasn't caused me much grief, but I've only been using it because it was by far the lastest version of anything I had.  (Everything else I have is so old they would have caused more problems, potentially severe ones.)  What would be the most recommended replacement app for these same functions under 9.2.2?  Please also comment on the volume size for your preferred app, if you know.

norton has saved me stuff but also destroyed some.

myself i dont really know the other alternatives, techtool pro and disk warrior. but techtool has a good reputation and does similar things.

my favorite of all is a program of another class; data rescue recovers files and folders of which the top of its path has been lost ("orphaned files")

for the all days job of fixing medium errors on disks, disk utility in OSX is a working alternative.
