Just installed a 320 GB harddisk

I formatted a 320 GB harddisk in an external USB enclosure connected to an unsupported MDD with OSX 10.4.

I use this now in a supported MDD with OS 9.2.2.
It can read at 77 MB/s.

I have 7 partitions: 1, 1, 4, 4, 4, 40 GB, and the rest.
Every partition is about 150 MB smaller than expected.
Is that normal?

I experienced also another problem: Norton Disk Doctor doesn't work anymore, but Disk First Aid and DiskWarrior continue to work.
Is that normal?

do yourself a favor + get a firewire enclosure!

i use this WD passport drive:

its FW800  + USB 2.0 at the same time
but i use it with a FW400 Adapter cable and it works great
as long as u have fw extensions updated

im not sure why you would want so many different partitions
i use my 500GB drive with 1 or 2 partitions max and it works fine

i also dont see how u could possibly get a 77MB/s read speed on mac os 9
via USB 1.1?

1 GB startup
1 GB startup 2 (for repairing the first partition)
4 GB programs that don't need write access
4 GB programs that need write access
4 GB project
40 GB finished work
242 GB scratch disk

I can continue to use Disk Doctor after unchecking "Check Partition Map".

I can continue to use Speed Disk after reformatting my HD like this:
4 GB startup
4 GB startup 2 (for repairing the first partition)
8 GB programs that don't need write access
4 GB programs that need write access
4 GB project
128 GB finished work
128 GB website
18 GB scratch disk
