Very suspicious of all this printer and internet stuff, but it won't launch with extensions off!  Do you have access to a way to install a version 7.6.1 system on it?

Here in the public downloads:

http://macos9lives.com/smforum/index.php/board,62.0.html

Read the details under the 7.6 section (it doesn't specify 7.6.1). Honestly, if that were my machine I would put 9.1 on it, at  the very least 8.6. My experience with SCSI and Logic in those early OS releases was a lot of type 10, 11 and 12 errors. It wouldn't hurt to try them all. You can run a very slim 9.1 system with Logic.

u need to download a 7.6.1 installer ? which exact machine are u running LORDG so we can be sure about which to link you.. wait.. i see.. Performa 6360?? right?
http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/mac_performa/specs/mac_performa_6360_160.html is it this exact model 160mhz? from 1996?

its quite possible that either the drive or the install itself is buggered if u bought it 2nd hand...

if your mac has a cddrive u might want to use a modern mac or pc and downoad from here to make one or more needed cds: http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/mac-os-install-cd-library

or if u need the install on floppies u can visit this link
http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/system-7-floppy-sets

personally id go with the cd
i think this link will do it for u
http://macintoshgarden.org/sites/macintoshgarden.org/files/apps/MacOS_761.toast_.sit i think its prob best to unstuff + burn with toast on a modern (intel) mac

i have the 7.5.1 install + update and its a pain in the ass.. too many steps

still hoping u can get things sorted and create a diskcopy img of the installers for us!
