Cinebench for OS 9

  Does anyone know of a functioning download link for, or have a copy of, the installer for Cinebench 2003 for Mac OS 9?  I don't know what happened to my copy.  (I think there was a link on this forum that didn't work anymore.)

I searched for the original file at the net. It was http://www.maxon.de/pub/benchmarks/cinebench_2003.sit or ftp://ftp.maxoncomputer.co.uk/pub/benchmarks/cinebench_2003.sit
So I kew the exact filename. While both sources are gone in the meantime.
I searched at the internet archive, but no luck. So I went to the Maxon website and had a look where the recent Cinebench is located. It is at http://http.maxon.net/pub/benchmarks/CINEBENCH_R15.zip so I replaced the recent path with the name of the .sit file from 2003 and - tadaa! Still here while it was never in existance when you look at Maxons website.

(BTW I do not get why so many companies fear to present their older software. There must be some marketing issue about "10 year old software means old and unattractiv company" or similar, ...)

  Thank-you so much for your quick response on this!  I don't think I would have ever figured it out the way you did.  I wanted this software back in my collection so that I could further test the functionality of my freshly-minted OS 9 Xserve.  Now you get to say that YOU helped with this project too!  I'm going to post about this shortly in the Xserve thread.

  If a forum admin reads this thread could you please sort out if we have this program properly linked or hosted for the benefit of the member base?  Thanks guys!

Yes, we will post it with the utilities. I think Mactron had it as an attachment here, but we will post it.  We have it in the Adrive archive, just have to link it.  on my phone right now, but it is on the list for next week 😃
