Swedish Mac OS 9.2.2
« on: April 21, 2016, 02:56:17 AM »
I've been scouring the web trying to find a swedish version of Mac OS 9.2.2 compatible with the later macs capable of booting into OS 9. The newest version I have is from august 2002 (for the first MDD) and has Mac OS ROM version S1-9.5.1, which doesn't work on mac models later than that. So I am wondering if anyone here could help me find a newer version?

That version, which came with a Power Mac G4 MDD from summer 2002, doesn't work well on any mac model introduced after the MDD that I've tried (for example the PowerBook A1025 and the november '02 iBook). The OS boots on these models, but isn't usable since the hardware isn't supported by this version (sound doesn't work, screen is stuck at 640x480, can't sleep, etc.).

Draefend: Can you post it somewhere for download? I have a MDD that I would like to run Swedish 9.2.2 on, but I can't find my original restore CD's.

My MDD is not booting with 9.5.1 either. CPU software is version 3.9 as well. There must be a newer Swedish version of 9.2.2 out there somewhere.

ive read that almost all of the mdd install disk images from cd are all very muchmodel specific
tailored specific for each machine that they were shipped with... and mixing up the versions will cause problems such as what u are experiencing.

Im a moron. After trying everything and then some I tried to copy the working 9.2.2 install I used in the studio (on this very MDD) to my main hard drive.

Did it work? No! Only then I realized that I tried to boot Mac OS 9.2.2 from a 252gb big partition... So I'll try again when my SSD (128gb) arrives.
