Anyone ever run into a service manual for the Opcode Studio 5LX? I have a couple that need some work...

Well, with a username like yours, if you don't have one, it probably doesn't exist…

Seriously, I've never heard of any Opcode service manuals for any hardware, ever.

well, they shouldn't be too hard to get fixed without one. Two have a bad input port, one has a dead power supply, and the forth just needs a software update.

power supply is an off the shelf SNP 1881, will not be covered in service manual. Powersupplies still made in this footprint

Hi,

I have a studio 5 LX with a dead PSU, I'd like to remove it and replace it with an equivalent one but I need to know the different voltages.

Does anyone have the voltages description for the studio 5 LX?

Thanks in advance.

The Skynet Electronics SNP-1881 (see reply #3 above) provides +5V at 3A, -5V at 0.3A, and +12V at 1A. Its dimensions are 70mm by 130mm, with mounting holes on 60mm by 120mm.

Ok many thanks for the informations.

I think a meanwhile RT65A will do the job: https://www.cats-france.fr/ac-dc-triple-output-enclosed-power-supply-output-rt--65a

Let's go!

I would rather go with PT-45A since it is smaller and closer to the original rating. It is more likely to fit within the 5LX case.

You will have to do something creative to screw it down, since the Mean Well mounting holes are on 65.8mm by 115.8mm. It may be possible to install mounting nuts either by soldering or riveting ("rivnuts") at the proper locations in the 5LX, or using epoxy.

Note that the pin assignment for the DC outputs is different from the Skynet, but the wires can be rearranged.
