RME Hammerfall DIGI 9636

I got this card hanging around at my place for years now, and never used it. As I got no ADAT equipment, I never tried it. And I am absolutely not familiar with the possibilities. So I need some help from you. Which programs can use the Hammerfalls "DSP". What exactly would that "ASIO in Hardware" bring for sound editing, with which application? Is it worth to use it without ADAT stuff, and start learning how to use it?

Hope there are people around who have some experiances with this card.
