You have to give way more info. than this; Printer make/model and if it is OS 9 compatible, Most older Mac network printers are installed via the chooser. (some links for you to read)

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/465282

http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/using-a-desktop-printer-in-mac-os-9.html

Also, some printers have their own setup for OS 9, like HP Laserjets on a network via TCP/IP that have an static local IP address.

You need a different image and nobody said your machine is unsupported maybe some questions upfront or research would have clarified that or saved you so e time. To add a printer in os9 you might have to get a old model because not every single one is supported with the onboard laserjet driver. What you could do is get a b/w laserjet or linux there is something like a fake spooler you can use any printer and linux will catch it and turn it into a pdf which you could print (create a watch folder).

I also got an error about library not right and I should enable it in the extensions folder, however lib seems to be there and running.

I have no background with os 9 might be overlooking something..

Ok you got a ppd file. But that doesnt say where you got it from or if it is compatible with anything for os9.

is it possible you dont have extensions enabled for print services? Check the extension manager.

I am not asking for full functionality, I just need black and white copy function and apple works.

Printer is not supported by ricoh:  http://support.ricoh.com/bb/html/dr_ut_e/nrg/model/p410a/p410aen.htm

I have no idea about the ppd file compatibility, this is the only source were I found it:

https://stuff.mit.edu/afs/athena/astaff/project/opssrc/cups/foomatic-db-20100201/db/source/PPD/NRG/PS/NRG-P7527n_PS.ppd

thanks

I missed this remark wel these don't find any hard disk:

http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/mac-os-922-powermac-g4-mdd
(even the restore 4 cdrom version, no joy)

With macos9lives found here, everything works, together with mac os 10.4.

Ok, can be closed.

Date was set 1904 causing this behaviour.  Printer works with ppd file, without adobe ps.

Threw even some photoshop gradient, lens flare, large letters with blur etc.. stuff I don't need to print at home,  but it works 100%

Speed is very good.

Battery is replaced, ntp server filled in to home country Belgium.

hope this helps

thanks for the  help.
