RAID Disk Volume Management Software
Certain Power Macintosh G3 configurations may be available with RAID disk volume
management software. This software enables your hard disk drives to be striped or mirrored.
The Power Macintosh G3 RAID Software CD can be used as a startup disk. You can start up
your computer from it and use the RAID application to initialize and stripe or mirror your hard
disks. You can also use the RAID Installer to place a copy of the RAID application on one of
your hard disks.
To restart your computer from the Power Macintosh G3 RAID Software CD, insert the CD and
hold down the C key while you restart.

Refer to the documentation supplied on the Power Macintosh G3 RAID Software CD for full
instructions on how to set up and maintain RAID volumes

it doesnt say anything about being SCSI only..?

IIRC it's for the BTO SCSI controller you could get in your B&W G3.

probably u are right

the acard 6880M also known as tempo RAID133 is prob the best for IDE RAID in a g3

Do you crave speed, but think you can’t afford it? Don’t limit yourself
to SCSI! For less than half the cost of a comparable SCSI setup, install
a Tempo™ RAID133 and high-performance ATA hard drives into your Power Mac® G3 or G4 to create fast hardware RAID volumes

just a quick note
if trying to set up striping/mirroring on a 6880M card in a G3 or G4
1 hard drive has to be set up on each of the ports/channels on the card\
(using 2 seperate 80pin ATA cables)

i was just trying to do it with 2 drives connected via one cable..
it doesnt work that way. while this will work fine in "normal" dipswitch mode
it will not show up in drive setup with hw raid mode enabled.

connecting the 2 drives to seperate ports with 2 cables + it works perfectly ;D
