are u sure your machine is a pismo?
the pismos had both firewire + usb ports on the back... and no mac serial port
so how could u be using a mac serial interface? unless u have a usb-serial adapter?

I'm sorry I miss typed.
Not a pismo, I do have one of those as well.  The one i was refering to is a PDQ.
300 MHZ G3 and has serial ports and scsi.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it, or break it so you can fix it!

Cubase is what i use regularly.
But I also use it to bring up really old projects I did in Trax on a macintosh tv back in the day.
I did install ProTools Free on it just as an experiment and it appeared to work fine, though I really didn't put much effort into it.
I haven't tried anything else on there yet as I have had no exact need to, but if you would like me to try something on there and give you a report on it I'd be more then happy to.

well that machine in particular is great for alot of things im sure but
especially for midi sequencers from 1997-1998 such as Studio Vision Pro 3-4 + Logic 3-4
the fact that it has both the serial + scsi connections needed for external midi hardware + scsi samplers makes it pretty cool!!!
these are things that are always a pain in the ass to add to desktops...

after 98.. both SCSI  + SERIAL were dropped from almost every computer..
because of usb + Firewire.. leaving us incompatible with the previous
generation peripherals..

im getting a bit sick of this repeating itself over and over.. first they have dropped firewire + now apple has even dropped thunderbolt.. *sigh*

dont be surprised if they turn around and drop usb !!! its already starting that they arent including usb ports on new notebooks!!!
