Is that the golden model? I mean the easy one to convert to OS9. Or the one that MacTron tried and wouldn't go? This one is 2 DVI

To my eyes, they are the same. The Gainward has some extra SiliconImage chips, I guess for the DVI

im not sure if it can achieve accelleration but if its a geforce 4 ti .. it should work.
but it would need to be flashed with a rom.. same as diehard did
unless its a mac edition

its a sweet ass card either way
the gaindward 7800gs is the absolute fastest card for powermac g4's (accel with X only)

I have the Gainward GeForce4 TI 4600 128MB video card already in my hands (the one with two DVI outputs).
I have made a original Gainward ROM backup, and when I have extracted the data from it ( Device ID settings and Timings Table) to make a custom Mac ROM for it I had a big surprise:

The data are the same on the original Mac nVidia ti 4600, so no rom editing is needed!
..so *in theory* flashing the original Mac Ti4600 rom in to this Gainward should make it work ...
Let see what happens ... :-X

no way.. wtf  >:(

are u sure its not because of the machine u are flashing it with..
like i said -- when i first tried to flash my radeon 9800 pro.. i was about to throw the card in the garbage - and then i tried to flash it in a different pc and it worked.. and its been in my g5 ever since working flawless

me too ;(
how could it be .. when the roms were identical? how is that even possible
i asked jerry to check his gpu chip to see if its the same..
there must be a way to make it work
something must be wrong here

There has to be a ridiculously small resistor blocking it to be PC. Dawn. We have to study the  original Mac GF4 card if it is identical.

thats one possibility.. but im starting to think its because of the motherboard that hes using to flash with...

like ive said a few times now.. i had problems with one board. the flash would work but the card didnt work.. then i flashed in another pc motherboard.. and it just worked.. and i thought the same as him.. that the card couldnt be flashed and i almost threw it out... but it wasnt the card or the rom but the motherboard that i tried to flash it with..

it may have been because this board i originally tried with was only an AGP 1x or 2x motherboard... maybe u need a pc motherboard that is 4x/8x agp maybe for it to flash correctly

the first board i tried to flash with: Abit BE6 (agp 2x i thnk) <- flash was successful, but card did not work
production date of mb: 1999

the 2nd board i flashed it with: Asus P5PE-VM (agp 8x) <-- flash was successfull first try worked in the powermac g5
production date of mb: 2006

take note of the notch location in the agp slot on the boards

according to the notch is the power supplied to the graphics card..
either 3.3v or 1.5v
perhaps this is the "key"??

mactron - which voltage is the slot on the pc board u are trying to flash it with?

apparently i had success with the 1.5v slot and not the 3.3v
