whats your "go to" REVERB? (hardware or software)
« on: March 06, 2015, 11:51:21 PM »
as far as hardware goes,
i personally have a midiverb4 by alesis
i also own the plate140 plugin auth on my uad-1

i've always wanted to own a lexicon pcm reverb but they were always a bit more then i felt i wanted to spend .. perhaps a decision made while i was not knowing the importance of a quality reverb's effect on music production!

whats the first reverb you reach for?

TC Works Native reverb plus.

PSP84, PSP42 (Lexicon) and OhmForce OhmBoyz as Delay/Reverb based "multi efects" processors.

For Reverb in PT5: Digidesign D-Verb, KOL RealVerb and Waves Renaisance Reverb. Delay Waves Supertap6 and all the Digidesign :Slap, short, sample, medium, mod and long delay.

On Logic 4.x : Waves Rverb, PianoVerb and the Logics ones: Platinum Verb and the family. I have to check if Logic Space Designer works on OS9,

but even if Space didn't all the blue old ones sound fine.
http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/dec03/articles/spacedesigner.htm

This thing only works on OS9 in  Logic 6.3!!!!But it works!!! Time to buy a XsKey.  ;D

The Delay in Logic has other  options: Tape Delay ...

I think there were a OS9 version on AudiEase Altiverb. It sounded great but that thing ate half CPU. I can't believe noone ever asked for it.

On OSX Breverb, IR-1, speakerphone ...
Looking for MacOS 9.2.4

mostly wind up using Reverb One and D Verb. Started playing around with Lexiverb lately.

On the hardware side, I have this Ibanez SDR 1000+ that I like quite a bit.

Yes, there was up to v 2.1.3 for OS 9 ...
It is the only Impulse response reverb for Mac Os 9, I think.
I will add it to my wish list, maybe someday...

Space Designer for Logic 6.3 and Altiverb are the only convolution reverbs on OS9 AFAIK.

There is something in D-Verb that makes it suitable for most singers. There is always a quick setup for D-Verb that makes most singer comfortable with it.

Reverb One and Lexiverb are TDM only. I have never tested on my rig, but on others rig yes. Every project need reverb, and based on where I mix it, I choose this or that, like most of us I guess.

https://ccrma.stanford.edu/~dattorro/DP4_manual.pdf

anyone heard of an Ensoniq DP/4 Parallel effects processor?
its an old multi effects unit frm early 1990s
i think it does reverb aswell.

Quote
The Effects
The ENSONIQ DP/4+ Parallel Effects Processor has over 50 high fidelity fully programmable
digital effect algorithms. Reverb, chorusing, flanging, delay, distortion, pitch shifting and an
assortment of other programs are provided with dynamic control over most of the settings.
There are 400 effect presets; 200 ROM (Read Only Memory) and 200 additional RAM (Random
Access Memory) presets for you to edit or store your own creation

also a DP/2 version

probably...

But I don't use Waves plugins ,because I think shell concept is a very bad thing, it introduces a warp adapter ( the shell ) at Waves convenience, not users, adding a level of software complexity that must be avoided, unless you don't have any alternatives ...
