furthermore this app is rewire2 capable..
which means it can send midi to + from host-slave
so it can allow more advanced midi communication back + forth with reason 1.0 / 2.0 / 2.5
then cubase5.1 (which is only rewire1 capable)

heres the demo!! mac os 9 app..
there is a german version, french version + japanese version aswell

Wow... damn thing looks like "Rebirth" / "Reason" for sure...

Think I saw this listed somewhere back in the day and thought it was part of a drum library, never saw a screenshot. Stupid marketing "Storm Studio" Like "Tornado Tracks" ; fucking weather multitrack recording...  I really don't get it... like storms do damage so if you use this.... you will do cool sonic damage ?  or impact the music industry like a Storm ?  Anyway, probably would have been a hit if they called it "Pro Studio Rack... in your Mac - Engineer Version"

Box says "VST compatibility" does that mean it loads VST effects or is loadable itself as a VST plugin... (which would be one Big ass plug)

Instruments look "hardwired" so probably no VST instrument support.

We need to get this here and check it out... Arturia always seemed behind when it can to VST Instument sound quality, but this could be the best this they ever made.

:) LOL  :)

It is a Java runtime... so cannot be seriously taken :(

any way,  I don't have it but the demo version....

there is also a lot of java stuff in their plug-ins, mainly that weird preset system on top.

moog modular V VST/RTAS puts like 25,000 single files in your preferences folder. one must be completly mad to organise things like that.

(i once found that out because i was wondering why i have to assign 500 mb RAM to prefs overload in order to scan. :D )

How do you know this?
There is no Java runtime code on Minimoog, Moog Modular and CS-80. May be compiled Java, but once compiled, is hard to tell if is Java, C or Pascal, and there is no problem with this.

none of these words were cool enough: haha:D
Arturia syllogistics was too many letters lol

i think it was made by french developers..

lol

i am also interested to get clarification on the "vst compatibility" i didnt even see that !!
nice catch

Quote
Reason, Live, Sonar compatibility
where does it say vst compatibility?
ok i see it now
Quote
Cubase + Logic Audio compatibility through the VST instruments protocol
hmm perhaps each of the modules of this app can be loaded as a sperate vst directly into cubase?
thats what i would understand from this sentence?

maybe, or maybe the listener is comparing to other vsts that are being routed thru fx (fm7 features its own internal effects) perhaps this isnt a fair comparison...in that a real engineer can make any dry sound sound great when wet with the right effects...
but i will agree that as a novice, loading up the vst without any special treatment
there are more impressive sounds to be found outside the arturia brandname

nevertheless
this arturia storm app is different from all of the other arturia software
the rest are all plugins, this app acts as a mixer application
meaning u can record sounds from rebirth or reason or live or Any rewire slave application directly into this app.. (as wave/aif im assuming?)

we need to get clarity on its vst functionality asap!!
i will try to find the manual

2001 is 13 years ago.. wow makes me feel old

No way.

Unless you compile it and add the VST framework to them.
All are Java runtimes.

"Cubase + Logic Audio compatibility through the VST instruments protocol"
how else would you interpret this sentence? mactron? what do u think this means
it says VST instruments protocol
do u think this really means rewire?
if so why didnt they say rewire protocol?

is this so strange to think? every other product by Arturia is exactly this.. VST instrument
you would think they know how to do this by now LOL

looks like they mispelled "Through" too lol .. but they spell it correctly on the same sentence just below re: rewire
crazy frenchmen!!!

Well maybe I'm wrong at some point. But the plugins included in the Demo version -at least- cannot be used as VST plugins in no way. Drag and drop some of them over Stuffit and take a look ...

about "bad sound", well i dont know, i wouldnt call the sound itself bad ... but the CPU hunger of their synths is in no relation to the sound, thats sure.

about VST: storm comes with one "storm" VST plug-in. purpose is to send midi from other apps into storm, just like it works for tokio.

i cant tell if it works good because i dont think its worth testing :) ... but normally it is always better to use custom inter-application communication compared to OMS.

yes ok thats what i was just about to post
i was going to say its probably one "vst instrument" plugin that acts as a bridge/gateway to port the sound from storm into cubase or logic!!
this must be it !
