filezilla can have alot of problems like this
i had huge problems using that before aswell
wierd things i couldnt explain that made no sense
why dont u try installing IIS instead and using windows own ftp server
using windows to serve to a mac isnt a good move in my opinion.
not because its wrong to do.. u can do it.
but u could have so much better integration with an afp capable server
like mac os x or
nas4free for dedicated file server..
i use windows 7 in fact im using it right now..
but not as a server.. forget that!!!
windows 7 is a client os...
windows 2000 or windows server 2003 maybe if i had to run windows as a server
but id rather run a snow leopard hackintosh as a server then windows!!
or better yet..
ubuntu linux
i wonder if its possible to run pure darwin
http://www.puredarwin.org/seriously theres way more kick ass options then using filezilla on windows 7 to serve up files to a mac
if u would try out this nas4free software.. it acts as a "go between" for any os
serving files via Samba to windows.. and via AFP to macs..
so each pc/mac gets to speak its native language to access the same stuff
because it uses AFP u can drag mac files to it without encoding them to binary or stuffing them without fear
this is really handy when ur busy doing other htings and dont have time to stop and package files
