geekbench 2
« on: September 20, 2014, 08:47:24 AM »
this is a program for mac os x
a benchmarking standard that is still very much active with modern intel powered macs
but this app began on powerpc macs on the first versions of osx

its hard to find the downloadable installer due to poor design of their site
so here is the link for anyone.. who.. like me, is benchmarking their g3 or g4
u must use 10.4.11 to do the benchmarking

http://s3.amazonaws.com/geekbench/Geekbench-2.2.0-Mac.zip
http://www.primatelabs.com/download/Geekbench-2.1.13-Mac.dmg.gz

geekbench keeps a nice public record of your test scores
http://browser.primatelabs.com/user/chrisnova777/geekbench2
such as mine seen here

i was displeased to see them try to force everyone to use geekbench 3..
and the fact that my results are hidden behind this Tab for geekbench 2 now.. >:(

but im glad it still works... and that i can have all my results on one page.
anyway some of the other installers u might find have a problem submitting the results to the server
and some dont work on ppc at all so here is the working link.. above
which is hard to find

Mac Os X test results can't be easy extrapolated to Mac OS 9. And even there is a plenty of Mac Os 9 test apps, it is no easy to found test results for some Hi End Mac Os 9 machines, especially ones with accelerator cards, but here :)
So if there is no Mac os 9 version of this program...
