We need something as BOME's MIDI Translator Pro for macOS9 to use it as looper. Midi translator :
Quote
With Bome’s Midi Translator Pro, you can control your computer from MIDI devices or other devices. For example: you can control your favorite software with a MIDI control surface, use MIDI turntables with arbitrary DJ software, map MIDI messages to other MIDI messages, and much more.

Also Midi Yoke is used on others on the setup. http://www.midiox.com/

MIDI YOKE is a MIDI Patch Cable driver. It is a Windows (Versions 3.1x, 95, 98 and ME) multimedia driver.  Also available is a driver for Windows NT and 2000 (unfortunately not as robust).
MIDI Yoke NT:  This driver works in Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 and Windows XP.  It is completely different code from the Windows 9x MIDI Yoke driver.  It is hard coded to 8 ports and can't be changed.  It is not as robust as the Windows 9x driver, is still Beta code and will not be supported -- use at your own risk.
MIDI YOKE is used to connect any Windows MIDI Application outputs to any other Applications inputs. The MIDI data stream is passed directly from output to input -- Example:

    [ Sequencer Out ]==>[ Out MIDI Yoke In ]==>[ In MIDI-OX 32 ]

Another:

    [MIDI Keyboard In]==>[In MIDI-OX Out]==>[Out MIDI Yoke In]==>[In Sequencer]

This allows you to connect the MIDI output from one program to the MIDI input of a different program. MIDI Yoke can be configured to provide a varying number of MIDI Ports (from 1 to 16). In addition, each port allows multiple opens of both input and outputs: up to 4 openings per port. This flexibility provides for almost any configuration imaginable. Note: The NT driver is fixed at 3 ports and 3 openings for the moment.
There is additional information in the FAQ.

Any tip to use a PowerMac as a looper is welcome. Maybe Live tool is the main but still is needed a tools like Bome's and MIDI Yoke. Os9 users maybe have anothers tools to achieve that.
Looking for MacOS 9.2.4

dude? bome midi keyboard? all of that is built into Ableton already
u can map any key, from apple keyboard or midi controller
u dont need any funky set up to do what hes doing all u need is a microphone
and running ableton live. its that simple.

u dont have to do it with a foot switch the way hes doing it
unless u are performing live the way he is..
this is unneccssary to have such a seamless way of performing
because honestly i doubt u will be doing perfect takes every time the way he is
unless u were accustomed to performing in this manner or u are a very skilled musician

I want to use his looping techniques for my guitar. My hands are tied to the guitar, so a floor board is needed.
I saw the chord memorizer techniques from Logic. How would you do a switch to "that take was fine: loop it" or "that take was shit: ignore it"?
There are some keystrokes needed to loop within Live:
A: Take all that,  loop it and arm another track to play loops
B: Go back 1 minute ago, where just bass and drums were playing and keep looping until I notice
C: Take all and change tune to +2 halftones
D: go back to the bass+drums state for a "new" direction.

And the "take all audio, ping pong to another track and arm a new track" thing is difficult to implement in OS9.

i have the same midi interface he has;) roland um880;)

its not difficult at all , all u need is a usb 2.0 card, and a bunch of midi controllers
what u need is a pedal board footswitch liek he had!
u can program all of these things in ableton!
u dont have to use midi tranlator pro in the way he has done this
hes done it this way because hes a pc user and can do it this way
but u can do all of these htings by mapping differently using midi controllers in os9
i bellieve this to be true anyway. if u were to put some time + effort into your mappings
u can figure out something similar!

its an awesome thng what he did tho for sure!
but this is not the only way to use ableton live!!!!!
