im trying to find an interface which features a phono preamp for directly connecting a turntable
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RIAA_equalization

ive just noticed that there is a "pro" edition of the mbox 2 that has this feature
see below the rca connections + ground...

but of course it is not compatible with os 9 for lack of a driver
does anyone know of any other interfaces that feature phono preamps? os9 compatible or otherwise?

off the top of my head i know of another

Good luck.

The famous one:

At least the first models works on Mac Os 9, without additional drivers, and according to Griffin Support:

Third party USB ASIO drivers will allow the iMic to support up to 24-bit resolution

It has a Line level and Mic level input selector. So Mic level should work for recording from a turntable, I guess...

manual: http://ftp.terratec.com/Producer/PHASE/PHASE26USB/Manual/PHASE26USB_Manual_GB.pdf
this terratec producer phase 26 usb.. it says phono on the front.. with 2 rca connectors but i dont see a ground connection?? which is odd?

i think this is another interface that was given mac os 9 support via the ploytec drivers?

Alternatively, there is also an input equipped with a phono preamplifier. The electrical properties of this preamplif ier are similar to those of the “ PhonoPre Amp Studio USB” by
TerraTec. - in other words, this is a first-class preamplifier with software - supported RIAA equalization for turntables.

^^ direct from the manual so apparently this is exactly that, even tho it lacks a ground!!
