which motu firewire devices are compatible with os9?

we know the original 828 + motu 828 mk2 + are mac os 9 compatible..
but the real question is..

the mk3 - is this also compatible with os 9?
this is a question id like to know the answer to!

doesnt look like it;( unfortunately this page claims that it requires 10.5.8 leopard at a minimum!!!!!

checking the manual here explicitly for the mkII has references to mac os 9!!!!!!
is the mk3 that much different from teh mk2?  the back panel connectors seem to be entirely different location wise
the mk3 seems to lack smpte in/out/punch and adat sync..

pretty safe to say those are the interfaces compatible with mac os 9 and the others are not..
