TC Powercore pci expansion slots?

Hi,

I am looking on my "new" TC powercore pci card and I see lots of different connectors. What can be done with these? I also see a empty memory slot (SODimm like); can it be expanded?

Just curious to know before I install it. Second if anyone has a MK1 manual; highly appreciated.

Thanks, unfortunately these manuals do not cover the MK1 version. That's why I asked.

i dont really understand your question, what does that mean:

The card/plugins stay in sync within Cubase. No problem at all. But I experience major problems with higher latency settings. My audiocard stops working and emits harsh, distorted noises. As soon as I reset it to lower AISO latency settings (<1000 samples) all is doing well on 24 bit. The problem doesn't show while working on 16 bit.

what card is that, what are the settings and why you are using something else than the lowest possible buffer?

normally the IO configuration should not interfere with a plug-in or the other way round .. but one never know .. the poco plug-ins are not known to produce denormal numbers .. when does this happen to you? when loading a plug-in or later or at random?

Allright let me explain what's going on in my setup.
I have a Mac QS 2002,933mhz running Cubase VST.
My audiocard is an Esi Waveterminal U24, running the Ploytec USB Audio Driver.
Powercore PCI is MK1 running at 33mhz in slot 5.

In Cubase VST 5/32 my audio setup is:
24 bit /44.1 khz, Plugin delay compensation on, external audio clock, favor midi-timing on.
The Ploctec USB Audio AISO driver (usb-audio.com) has some basic AISO settings.
From relaxed, normal, fast, to fastest. Normal gives me a latency of 54ms and fast gives me 9ms. I don't use the fastest setting because I want to free some CPU load while working with VSTi's. Generally speaking I am working with the fast setting.

Before I installed my powercore card everything was stable. As soon as I installed my powercore card my audio crashed big time after loading Poco plugins and trying some of the presets. (at random, not while loading) After switching to 16 bit all seemed stable. Second I fooled around with the POCO ADMA buffer. It was set on 1 channel; i've set it to 2 channels to see that would solve my issue. It did but only while using the fast AISO setting on 24bit. In the normal setting; my audio card crashes while using the plugins wich results in a terrible white noise. So it seems the powercore card needs an audio card buffer setting of <1000 samples. I've read about issues with M-audio cards which had the same problem with higher buffer settings (high latency). Or in this case maybe I am missing something or haven't changed a crucial setting?

TC's answer:"While the original PCI card was prepared for a memory expansion, we never made any such expansion available for it. "

So that mysterie is solved.  I still am experiencing the issues I described above. Any suggestions?

My Poco problems are caused by hardware incompatibility. TC has confirmed that.
Won't change my audio card so I am selling the Poco. Going back native!

I've tried the Ploytec drivers with two different USB audio adapters I have around here, recording at 24 bits and inserting PowerCore effects without problem.

.....it is most likely the waveterminal. Some maudio stuff have exactly the same problem. Total crash of all audio.

could it be a clocking issue?
is it similar to how cubase.. after being left on for some time the audio gets distorted, and you have to reinit the audio system by switching asio driver to something else + back again?

Could be. The solution you mentioned is the same. However I've been using the ESI waveterminal for more than 10 years with Cubase and I've never experienced any problems. I just sold the POCO card and...... everything runs perfectly.
