also, im now enjoying dual monitors for the first time on mac os 9
on my mdd 1.25ghz (2003) ;) thanks to radeon 8500
using dual samsung syncmaster LCDs!
the classilla scrolling speed / screen redraw on this mdd with this graphic card is great
the best performing i have ever seen on mac os 9 for sure

very cool;)

just inserted my megawolf romulus Serial port pci
about to connect my Opcode Studio 128x
and also set up my DELTA 1010LT (chose this interface because i can run it in both X + 9)
(too bad there was never a pro tools m-powered for os 9!)
and connect a corsair 60gb sata SSD to my SATA-150 card for running os9 + apps from

hey mactron -- did u have this app for making software raid with two IDE drives in mac os 9?
I believe u made reference to it as "softraid" ?

I want a 2 x hard drive stripe for large capacity/fast sample loading

i have this acard raid adapter but if i use it it will use the last pci slot
i have left.. but perhaps i should make a new proper thread about making software raid stripe in os 9..

ok so after some long thinking + planning --
what i had planned on was to have a DAW machines for each vst capable os that there ever was
so that i can use these machines together networking via midi + audio cables to use any vst plugin
i could find all together on the same projects!

so i now have differnt os memory limit appropriate machines for each.. complete with audio + midi interfaces that are setup + workijng! so im really excited to move to the next phase of my setup.

a)win98se (512mb ddr1)
b)mac os 9 (1gb sdram)
c)winxp (32bit) (4gb ddr2)
d)mac os x (power pc) (8gb ddr1)
e)mac os x (intel) (16gb ddr3)
f)windows (64bit) (16gb ddr3)

will be realy cool to be able to use all of these different os + softwares collaboratively in the same project i hope to achieve some unique results making my efforts worthwhile;)

and dont worry mactron+ diehard.. everytime my win98 bluescreens.. i think of you <3
LoL

The 4 port kvm is cheap because monitors/tv are moving to DVI/HDMI/Display Port. But you have a point. For vga computers is still valid. And cheap. In fact is very cheap. This price is normally for a ps2 unit, not practical for us
Looking for MacOS 9.2.4

i never had anything else but 2 monitors, since system 7. it is hard to avoid for protools/cubase/photohop and programming. :)

are you satisfied with the possible resolutions for your syncmaster? on my G4-933 i run samsung 24" via GF4 and radeon 9500, and i can get only 2 proper resolutions in OSX and 1 in OS9.
well ok normally 1920x1200 is fine, but i must admit that i play games from time to time, and that is a bit difficult with such new monitors.

i havent really tested extensively for resolutions..
i can tell u i had a helluva time getting 1680 x 1050 to work on my win98se box tho;) with a geforce2 card.
had to text hack the .inf for the video card driver to pull that off!
