AISO MP3 player
« on: May 14, 2014, 10:13:16 AM »
Hi,

I am looking for an AISO compatible mp3 player. Itunes uses soundmanager = systemsounds. I want to route mp3's to my external USB audio card for listening only. (no import) Any suggestions?

1) Many sound cards can map the system audio to the sound card (however I have seen iTunes magically override this)...

2) If the Sonic Powerbundle plays MP3 (which I can't remember if it does) then you can configure ASIO

My card (ESI U24) can't map the system audio to the soundcard. I can import mp3's in Cubase etc which is great for listening/working with 1 track. But as an mp3 player; too much hassle. I guess I am stuck on Itunes.  ::)

the usual player app all dont support it.

but there should be at least 1 or 2 "pro" apps which allow to play mp3s, i just cant remember which. maybe ... spark?

i guess to just wire the sound manager out to a stereo input would be a waste of input channels
and require a 3.5" stereo to rca + stereo 1/4" trs to rca adapter

Exactly. The RME driver has an option to map the system sounds to the audio card. Great for mp3 listening etc.

the majority of audio interfaces with ASIO driver also supports soundmanager.

alot of them do but the sound manager driver is not always completely implemented properly.. which results in a crash when trying to use that interface with pro tools free. which is why i was asking Arjen if hes tried this, because i also have the same RME card
