Yes, make sure if you have 1 GB, that you give CuBase 400,000 to 500,000 setting for memory, CMD-I

Cubase VST/32 5 Configuration & Checklist:
1. Install Mac OS 9 + patch up to 9.2.2
2. Follow Critical Directions (above) to install Cubase
3. Turn off Appletalk (via the chooser)
4. Turn off virtual memory (via control strip)
5. Ensure all MIDI and sound card extensions are installed (via Extensions Manager)
6. Install Opcode OMS 2.3.8 or MOTU FreeMIDI with OMS Support
7. Set Cubase Memory to 300,000 or 400,000 via "Get Info" CMD-I and Memory

I'm amazed Cubase was working as well as it was with so little memory allocated... I only have 384mb installed at present, more RAM is on it's way, but in the meantime allocating a little more (128 min, 256 preferred) seems to have done the trick.
